FencingSports & ActivitiesNew and returning students are invited to join this fast-growing Olympic sport. Hall of Fame Olympic Fencing Coach, Ro Sobalvarro, crafts all lessons and curriculum that is used to train the instructors. Students pair up and practice a fencing move or concept, rotate partners and repeat. Students are then asked to mock-fence using only the moves taught thus far.Safety is the first priority! We supply safety swords, protective masks, chest plates and jackets and we practice in a high octane, inclusive environment. Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes (no sandals). Mini-Monster PaintingSports & ActivitiesUnleash your creativity and bring magical creatures to life in this hands-on, beginner-friendly class! Aspiring artists will learn basic painting techniques as they transform detailed Dungeons & Dragons-themed miniatures into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Guided by an experienced instructor, participants will explore priming, color and detail work while expressing their own unique style. Run 'n ReadSports & ActivitiesReading and exercise is made fun with this popular class that meets once per week. We'll have a snack, read, discuss our book, and then it's time for fun running exercises and games. Run 'n Read is a non-threatening way for students to enjoy reading and exercise. Students will be able to run with others at their own pace, and have fun with running drills and games. Class participants will receive a "Run 'n Read" shirt, a healthy snack each week, and an age-appropriate book. Bring running shoes and a water bottle to each class. Meets five times.Run 'n Read students may choose to register at a discounted price for our annual Community Ed Color Run (1-mile) held on May 30, 2026, at Sun Path Elementary. Choose Run 'n Read plus the 1-mile Color Run upon checkout. Students will receive an additional t-shirt with this race. Please indicate your child's T-shirt size when enrolling. Shakopee Youth Track & FieldSports & ActivitiesDo you have a child who is interested in the basics of Track & Field? We are excited to offer this program for our elementary and middle school students. Each participant will get exposure to a variety of different events (both running and field events) that will help build their confidence, skills, and work ethic. They will learn a routine of proper warm-ups, drills, and stretching. Participants must bring running shoes and a water bottle to practices and meets. They will practice five times and will have three meets. Please note May 7 is a make-up rain date.Track and Field participants may choose to register at a discounted price for our annual Community Ed Color Run (1-mile) held on May 30 at Sun Path Elementary. Choose Track and Field plus 1-Mile Color Run upon checkout. Students will receive an additional t-shirt with this race. Families:We are looking for volunteers to help coach different events and activities. No prior coaching experience needed. Coaching resources will be provided to help assist you.
