Classroom & BTW-A

Shakopee Community Education provides quality classroom and behind-the-wheel driver's education instruction for Shakopee Public Schools resident students. Students must be at least 14½ years old on or before the last classroom session. Behind-the-wheel lessons are scheduled after students successfully complete the 30-hour classroom course, pass the Minnesota permit knowledge test and complete 10 hours of supervised driving with a parent or guardian.

The 2026–27 Driver's Education fee is $440 and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

All 2026–27 school year classroom sessions and 2027 summer classroom sessions will be held at Shakopee High School in the 2nd Floor Lecture Room.

Please include any special needs or accommodations when registering. Additional information and registration packets are available at the Community Education Office, the Shakopee High School office and on the school district website.

Note:

• BTW Missed Session Fee is $50.
• Any cancellation of a class after the start date is subject to a $50 change fee.
• Switching from one classroom session to another classroom session after the start date is subject to a $50 transfer fee.
